If you're thinking about living in Halecrest, Costa Mesa, one of the first things to know is that this neighborhood feels very established and very local.

That community atmosphere is one of the biggest reasons people become attached to the neighborhood.

Membership to Halecrest Park is separate from homeownership, so buyers interested in the club should always check current membership availability and waitlist information.

Halecrest's Community Feel

Halecrest has the kind of established neighborhood feel that can be harder to find in newer Orange County developments.

You’ll see longtime homeowners mixed with younger families moving in and remodeling homes.

It’s common to see neighbors walking dogs, kids riding bikes and people spending time outside.

Having Halecrest Park right in the middle of the neighborhood also gives residents a built-in place to gather for activities, sports and community events.

Killybrooke Elementary is located within the neighborhood, and Gisler Park is also nearby.

One underrated thing about Halecrest is how convenient everyday life can be.

You’re close to Target and Sprouts for everyday errands, plus local coffee spots like Better Buzz Coffee and ONN Coffee.

For workouts, CorePower Yoga is nearby, and you’re also close to plenty of gyms and fitness studios around Costa Mesa.

If you want something more casual in the evening, Brewing Reserve of California is also close by and adds another local neighborhood option.

You’re only a few minutes from even more restaurants, coffee shops and shopping around South Coast Metro, The CAMP and The LAB.

That convenience is a big part of Halecrest’s appeal. You can live on a quiet residential street while still having coffee, workouts, groceries, restaurants and everyday shopping just a few minutes away.

Halecrest Location

Halecrest is centrally located within Costa Mesa, making it especially convenient for people who commute or want quick access to the rest of Orange County.

The neighborhood is close to Harbor Boulevard, Fairview Road, Baker Street and the 405 freeway.

You’re also just a short drive from South Coast Plaza, John Wayne Airport, Orange Coast College, The CAMP, The LAB and Newport Beach.

For commuters, the freeway access is especially convenient.

And for weekends, you can still get to the beach, Fairview Park, Costa Mesa Golf Course or Eastside Costa Mesa without going very far.

Parks, Schools & Outdoor Life

Between Halecrest Park and other nearby parks, there are plenty of options for getting outside.

Halecrest Park offers swimming, tennis, pickleball and playground space right inside the neighborhood.

Gisler Park is also nearby, and Costa Mesa has plenty of additional recreation options just a short drive away.

You’re close to TeWinkle Park, Costa Mesa Tennis Center, Costa Mesa Skate Park, Fairview Park and Costa Mesa Golf Course.

That makes Halecrest especially appealing for buyers who want an active lifestyle without having to drive very far for parks, sports or outdoor activities.

Halecrest itself is primarily residential, but there are plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and local businesses nearby.

Better Buzz Coffee and ONN Coffee are both easy options for coffee, while Brewing Reserve of California is nearby for local beer and a more casual hangout.

South Coast Metro gives you even more restaurant and shopping options, and The CAMP and The LAB are only a short drive away.

You get the quiet neighborhood feel at home without feeling disconnected from everything happening around Costa Mesa.

Home values in Halecrest can vary quite a bit depending on square footage, lot size, condition, remodeling and location within the neighborhood.

That’s especially important here because there can be a large difference between a smaller original mid-century home and one that has been significantly expanded or completely remodeled.

Recent sales in the neighborhood have shown a fairly wide range depending on condition and size.

As with most established Costa Mesa neighborhoods, buyers should look beyond price per square foot alone.

Lot size, floor plan, upgrades, outdoor space and proximity to the park can all make a meaningful difference in value.

Inventory in Halecrest can also be limited at times, which is another reason it helps to closely follow both active listings and recent off-market or pending sales.
